Maclaren has been up and is now back to sleep. Jackson is up and going and all animals are up as well. My early rise this morning is now getting to me and I would really like a nap. I have lots to get done today as the kids and I are going to be on our way to SEMO tomorrow!
Jackson is ready to see everyone and is especially looking forward to playing with Hank and Hunter! I know Alex is ready to see Maclaren.

I believe Grandma and Grandpa Moore are probably already on the road today as they are going to Chicago for a few days to see Lily. Next weekend they will be coming here and taking care of Jackson and Maclaren solo for a few days as I will be attending some photography classes all week. I am looking forward to being able to network a little and learn from some really awesome artists.

I'm not sure who enjoys our new kitten more-I think it's me! She's so full of life and energy. Plus-I think she really likes me. She's sitting by my keyboard right now and looks as if she is ready to attack my screen at a moments notice. I wish I could transfer some of her attention span to Jackson-she played with one of his nerf bullets yesterday for over a half an hour!

Jackson is becoming quite the little person. He is being influenced by commercials now and everything he sees he believes "we need to get one of those". He just saw a water gun that you fill "in 15 seconds, Mom"! Yeah I know, and that's probably how long it will take him to shoot me with it!

It's kinda dreary here today. It's an awesome day to do absolutely nothing. I wish I didn't have to pack-I may just throw all our stuff in our totes and sort it when we get there! (Just kidding-I really wouldn't do that-it would drive me insane!)

Well I guess that's enough endless blabber, I have tons of things to accomplish. Most importantly though I have a cute little four year old that would love it if Mommy and his new kitty curled up with him on the couch while he watches "Max and Ruby".

Good Morning

For some reason my darling angel has become a restless sleeper! She woke at 3:37am this morning as she has been for the past few days. After getting her back to sleep and tossing for awhile longer I decided that I had things I could do-so I got up! I don't know if her new sleep problems are just a phase or if they are a result of the fact that I am weaning her. Maybe both? I don't know.

The house is quiet, which is a rarity now. The only sounds I hear are the hum of the fan over the baby monitor, the clicking of my keyboard, and the purring of the cat who has perched herself on my shoulder.
Speaking of the cat...Andy wants to change her name, and I'm not completely opposed. We forgot about Jynx (until we were watching "In Plain Sight" last night). Not that we would be naming her after the lady on the show but it just made us think of it. One of Andy's all-time favorite movies is "Meet the Parent's" and of course the cat on there is Jynx!

Well that's going to have to be it-my monitor needs to be plugged in and if I'm going to go upstairs to get the cord I may as well take a shower-or go back to sleep!

Milestone

I've been so busy trying to catch everyone up that I forgot one of the best milestones that we have reached. For the past few weeks Maclaren has been muttering "dada". Every time she did this I told Andy it was just a sound, because what she was really trying to say was "mama" because she knew that I was the one that cared for her 23 1/2 of the 24 hours a day (not that I was really bitter)! Well now, she's saying "mmmummmaaaa" and she actually says it to me!!!!

We are waiting for a good crawl, but I'm being patient because I know my job gets a lot harder when that happens!

Jenny-our new kitty!

She is soooo playful!

Let's Catch Up!

Hello everyone. I can not believe that it has been over a month since my last post. How about I do a brief run-down since my last post!

April 24th- the kids and I rode back to KS with Aunt Libby as she went to KC to visit Jared. I would have to say Aunt Libby probably didn't get the Moore children at their traveling best. I also nixed the idea I had previously had for purchasing a car as our next trade-in. I had to leave Maclaren's stroller in SEMO!

April 25th- Andy was not on-call that Saturday so we drove to Independence, KS (about 35 minutes from Chanute) so I could test drive my dream bike at the Trek Store. Afterward, we noticed a pretty busy park so we ended up eating Arby's under a pavilion and watching a game of church softball. We walked quite a bit and discovered a "Zoo". It was decent-great for a free zoo with cheap concessions-cotton candy for a buck, twenty-five. You can't beat that. They had bears, monkeys, a donkey, some snakes, sugar gliders, kinkajou, among a few others. The cool part of Independence is the huge park with lots of equipment. I am extremely surprised by the height of the equipment-there is a slide that's at least 30' tall-maybe more and a "fireman's pole" which is also pretty tall. The town was home to Thomas Sinclair, some may remember him by the old Sinclair gas stations. I promise that will be all my KS trivia for this post!

May 1st- My baby boy turned 4-years-old! Jackson woke up bright eyed that morning and ran into my bedroom. He jumped on the bed and looked at me and with a big grin said, "Mom, I'm four today." This was the first year that he has remembered that it was his Birthday when he woke up-and more importantly he knew the significance of the day. Mid afternoon he received a bouquet of Spiderman balloons delivered by the flower shop from down the street. As I read the card from Zsa Zsa, Pappaw, and Aunt Libby, Jackson was busy tearing into the Spiderman bag. As colored tissue paper flew he yelled out the he got a "Fpiderman" movie (Spiderman 3). The real excitement, however, came after he took the movie out of the bag and he saw the Reese's Peanut Butter cups in the bottom of the bag. He went crazy over the PB cups all day! I'm still not sure that he understands who actually sent him the goodies, because all day he kept saying how nice it was of that man to bring him his pb cups! When Andy got home we ordered our favorite Opie's Pizza, opened presents, sang the "Birthday Song" and ate cake. We had planned to take the little guy Cosmic Bowling but he must have been tuckered because he fell asleep to the point of no awakening before we made it to the alley! We did take him the following night but had to do regular bowling-he loved it just the same!

May 7th- We all drove to MO in preparation for Jackson's MO Birthday Party. We stopped in Springfield on Thursday night and ate at Bandana's with Mark and Steph. Uncle Mark (and Steph) got Jackson some cool Cardinals Baseball cards as well as a Cardinals wallet. Jackson has been asking for a wallet for some time now! We actually didn't get to the Moore's until May 8th as it was after midnight when we finally pulled in!

May 8th- We had a redneck weenie roast! It was raining so Pappaw put some firewood in an old metal filing cart and we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows that way. No one can deny that they were good and we didn't have to go far because we did it right in the front yard!

May 9th- Jackson's Party Day. We rented a bounce house and had so much fun! We partied and bounced pretty much all day! Jackson got lots of great presents and Andy and Pappaw made cotton candy for all the kids-talk about a sugar rush!

May 10th- We celebrated Mother's Day and then Andy drove back to KS. The kids and I decided to stay a few more days as I had an appointment in PB on the 11th as well as a shoot in Kennett on the 12th. I also did some engagment pictures for Libby and Jared at the Claudia House on the 13th.

May 14th- We rode back to KS with Grandma and Grandpa Moore. I drove all the way and didn't have to use the GPS or directions! The kids were extremely good for the trip. They rode great and didn't complain much-even when I bottomed the Space Ship (aka the van).

May 16th- We took the grandparents to Independence to visit the "Zoo".

May 18th- Grandma and grandpa decided they had enough excitement for a few weeks and drove back to MO!

May 22nd- Andy had enough OT to take off 1/2 a day. Mike and Jennifer (and Ellie) came later that day to visit. They are our friends from Ponca City, OK. Andy started playing WOW on the internet with Mike and Jennifer, well-- almost five years ago. We met them a couple of years ago when Chuck and Colette lived in St. Louis. Ellie is so adorable!!! Jackson had a blast playing with her. I told him I was going to have to take him to the Dr. because his lips were going to turn black and rot off because he wouldn't quit kissing on her! I managed to get a few shots of them playing before they left on Saturday.

May 23rd- We chilled like chinchilla's all day long! Andy fixed a huge breakfast for us before our guests left. Afterward, the family went for a drive around the outskirts of Chanute. We came back home and sat on the front porch and took in the beautiful day. We watched a little tv, then carried on a Moore family tradition (and yes, I even gave in) and took a nap. The girls in the King size bed and the boys in the Queen! When we woke up we went to the Park and let Jackson ride his bike and play. He even got to touch a perch that a gentleman caught in a net. The nap proved detrimental- we were still awake at 12:30, mommy wide eyed (but in bed) until after 1am. Maclaren woke up at 2:30 and finally went back to sleep at 4:07am! It was a good nap, but that's exactly why I usually don't participate in them!

May 24th- Jackson called Aunt Libby and sang Happy Birthday to her.
We did a little afternoon driving and got Jackson a surprise as well! A new addition to the family...Jenny, our new kitten. What were we thinking? I don't know, it seemed like a pretty harmless request. I mean, he didn't ask for a python or anything like that (which, by-the-way he will never get!) She's cute and we are all having fun watching her play around!

May 25th- Happy Memorial Day! Happy Anniversary!!! Andy and I were married 7 years ago today. I can't believe we have been married for 7 years-that's so crazy. Oh my, I am getting soooo old!!!

We are still kickin'!

It has been forever since my last post. We all came home for Easter and when I found out that Dad was going to be off of work for two more weeks the kids and I decided to stay and help Pappaw out! So we have one more week left! Aunt Libby is going to be going to visit the future (uncle) Jared next weekend so we will be riding backto Kansas with her!

Andy has been working hard this week while we were gone and had 55 hours in as of last night! Keep it up, I want a Trek! In the middle of all of his hard work he did find the time to go to Springfield on Friday night to cash in his free party from The Fox and the Hound-so I'm sure he ended up smoking a pretty good cigar-his reward for all of his hard work!

We had Maclaren's Christening last Sunday. She slept right through the whole thing! Jackson enjoyed dying eggs-and hunting them! He has had a blast all week going to Hank and Hunter's. All day long all you hear from him is "I wanna go to Hane and Hunna's, when will they be out of school?" Pictures of this weeks events will have to wait until we get back to Kansas next week! Sorry!

Well I'm helping Libby on some on-line Econ quizzes so I had better get back to it! Two down, three to go! Man, am I glad that I'm finished with college-I don't miss this at all!

This week at a glance...

I'm not sure where my head has been this week. I've religiously checked to see what Sebastian is up to as well as how high the bid has gotten on my latest e-bay finds but I've somehow forgotten to update my own blog! So...the week has been pretty low-key for us. Pappaw did have surgery on his rotator cuff but he decided that he needed a little "Jackson fix" during his week off work. We have waited all week to tell Jackson the news and just broke it to him. I'm definitely glad we waited because the level of excitement is pretty extreme. He's also going to get an extra little treat when he goes to Grandpa and Grandma Moore's as his cousin Lily is going to be there this week. He's super excited. Oh my, maybe we should have waited until the morning to tell him!

Yesterday the kids and I accompanied Andy to Independence, KS. On the way home we decided to go through Parsons for a little change of scenery. Though we were originally planning on eating at our new favorite steak place Fireside Inn (it's more or less a bar) we decided to try a Chinese restaurant in Parsons. We both decided that our first trip there would also be our last. I realized later that there were no Chinese people that worked there. That really should have been our first clue!

Today was a beautiful (yet extremely windy) day in Chanute. I decided we should take advantage of Mother Nature so I bought Jackson a kite and we all headed to our favorite park. Needless to say the kite didn't hold the attention of our little almost-four-year-old for long so we ended up taking a walk around the lake. After our walk we played on the swings and Andy wheeled Jackson around the merry-go-round. Watching Jackson stumble from there to the swings was absolutely hilarious. Of course, we made our usual round and played on the train before heading home.

Tomorrow the kids and I are going to Springfield to do a little shopping and meet Aunt Libby. Libby went to see Jared this weekend in Kansas City. Jackson will be riding home with her tomorrow! I know she can't wait. I'm going to do my best to get him to sleep on the way to Springfield because I think she needs the full dose of Jackson...all the way home! "Are we almost there? Are we there yet?" "I'm Spiderman, okay?.... Okay?" "I'm the sterminator (Exterminator-from A&E), okay?....Okay?" "I'm a rahoon (racoon)"....I'm sure you all get the picture. I love the way he says rahoon now, it's almost as cute as when you ask him if Maquawen is asleep or awake. "She's asweep mom". It melts my heart.

WARNING TO ALL GRANDPARENTAL UNITS OF JACKSON: JACKSON IS TOO CUTE FOR HIS OWN GOOD. YOU WILL THINK HIS SNEAKY, MISCHEIVIOUS MANNER IS ADORABLE. IT IS. BUT FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY. WE APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE IF AT ANYTIME HE TELLS YOU "DON'T GET CRABBY" OR "(grandparent name of your choice), JUST CALM DOWN, CALM DOWN" (WHILE SIMULATEOUSLY HOLDING HIS HANDS PALMS DOWN).

More of the White Stuff

One of the funeral homes Andy works at.

Waterfall at the park we go to (upper right).

Our house.

And of course, Jackson eating yet more SNOW!

Our Snow Day

We had a great day in the snow! Jackson made snow angels, we through snow balls at each other and we started a snowman-but it got too cold for mom and Jackson's cheeks were getting a little too rosey-so we came in and are saving the snowman for tomorrow!
When we came in Jackson and I enjoyed some Marshmallow Lovers Hot Chocolate (by SwissMiss) we both highly recommend it! Andy got his nap as did Maclaren and Jersey. Here are some pics from our day!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Jackson woke up this morning extremely disappointed. "It didn't snow, Mom. You said it was going to snow." Oddly enough, the radar said it was snowing here! Well, guess what? It's coming down now! I have a little boy in a dinosaur shirt, striped bed pants and black rubber boots, ready to play in the snow! I told him to wait until it got deeper but I don't think I can contain him much longer! Andy's ready for us to go out-he wants to take a nap with Maclaren and Jersey! He deserves it-he has worked 55 1/2 hours this week-hopefully he won't have to go back in today and will get that nap! I'll post pics later!

Last Post of the Day!

So this is my last post of the day because I have got to go to bed!!! I couldn't resist sharing this moment. Maclaren is pretty ticklish and her big brother got a little carried away with his paint brush (absent the paint thankfully). I know this awe that she has for him will someday go away, but for now, it's the sweetest thing that I know.

Maclaren's Room

Here is Maclaren's room. I am taking opinions (yes, I am asking for opinions) on whether or not the black polka dot sheers look better or not. Keep in mind that I don't have them hanging with a rod as I haven't decided to keep them and buy more for the other window or to sell them on ebay. If we buy this house I would say that the blue carpet would have to go!

Jackson's Room

Here are some pictures of Jackson's room. All of his toys are in a separate "toy room". It helps a lot to have them in a different space. I will post some of Maclaren's room soon.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

We all went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade this past Saturday. I don't guess I had ever been to a St. Patty's Day parade before-it was cute. Jackson loved the Fire Truck (of course) and the horses. There was a horse pulling a carriage-the horse had a green sequined hat on-Jackson thought it was "so silly".
After the parade we ate lunch at "Grandma's Subs and Yogurt". It's right on Main Street so we sat by the front window and watched traffic. The sandwiches were awesome-probably one of the best subs that I have ever had. After lunch we had Jackson's fingerprints and a "mug shot" taken-he was amazingly good through the entire process. We sat and watched as a young lady and her mother wrestled with her two children. They ran around the building screaming and throwing a fit. I need moments like those to remind me that he isn't as hard to corral as he could be!

Sunday we somehow managed to get up and all get ready for church (on time)! That doesn't happen too often in this family so we were extremely excited that we made it! After church we went to eat at El Pueblito's. Their entrees are good but I really like their chips-they are so thin you can practically see through them.
After lunch Andy went to work and the kids and I went for a walk. We walked to the park (the one closest to our house-not our favorite, but it's still fun). It takes about 6 minutes to get their on foot. Jackson enjoyed climbing the big caterpillar and playing on the swings while Maclaren hung out in her stroller (of course). Jackson insisted that I play with him on the slide, so of course, I did. I followed him down a few times then as he ran around to climb back up I ran back up the slide. At that moment I was the ultimate of coolness because I climbed the slide "like Spiderman". Then, he found out he could do it too and, well, I wasn't so cool after all!
When Andy returned home from work, Jackson and I decided to mow the yard. Meanwhile Andy tried to manage with Maclaren, thankfully he finally got her to go to sleep. We worked in the yard until a little after 8pm and (I think) we got a lot accomplished. Then of course it rained Sunday night and most of Monday so I'm sure it will need it again soon!

Maclaren is getting so big. The outfit she wore to church was a 3-6 month and it seemed to fit okay, it wasn't too baggy like most of her 3-6 month clothes have been. She still loves to watch Jackson. She has also taken a liking to a certain black and white dog so Jackson may have to share his "best friend" before too long!

Jackson is still on the Spiderman kick. A few weeks ago he found the movie (which at the time Andy and I had still never watched all the way through) in our movie "trunk". He had to watch it. Well since that day I hear at least once an hour "Mom, I'm Spiderman, okay?" I respond with "Okay" and he chimes back with another "Okay?" It's like clockwork. I ordered him a couple of Spiderman shirts and have found this adorable "throwback Spiderman" shirt at Gap which I plan on getting for Easter so he can wear it to his Birthday party.
I can't believe he is almost 4 years old. I feel like I'm one hundred and five saying "it seems like only yesterday we brought him home". But it does. I can so vividly remember that first night in the hospital with him. Andy asleep on that little green couch, I walking around with Jackson in my arms. The early morning sun beaming through the metal blinds and the thought that "I made it through the first night" running through my head. Now, he's running through my house acting like he's a Mountain Lion and Jersey is his deer. I'd better go save her! More later!

Just one more!

I know, it's getting late and if I don't get in bed tomorrow will be rough. I had to stay up to hang up Andy's new Penwell-Gabel shirts so he could wear one tomorrow-so I thought I would do some late night blogging while I waited!

We had a good trip to Springfield/Branson this weekend. We left on Friday afternoon and stayed with Mark and Steph both Friday and Saturday night. Friday night we just all hung out. We let Mark and Steph get their dose of Jackson! Saturday morning Steph fixed a great breakfast-bacon, (alligator) eggs, biscuits and hashbrowns. With Jackson, everything we have is now alligator (chicken), snake (beef), or shark (fish). He just doesn't want to eat chicken-but he will tear up some "alligator". It all tastes like chicken anyway! Right? After breakfast the kids and I drove to Branson, about a 25 minute trip, to see Zsa Zsa and Pappaw and the Neelyville Sr. Beta kids. We went to The Landing and had lunch at Garfield's, looked in a few stores then headed back to the Radisson and hung out until the g-parents had to go to the next "session". I swear, it took me 25 minutes just to get off the strip in Branson-it was horrible!
We met up with Mark, Steph, and Andy and after a quick trip to Hobby Lobby for some fabric we went and ate. After that we were pretty much finished!
Sunday we got up and met the g-parents and Beta at RedLobster then went to the mall. Pappaw, Andy, and Jackson went to Bass Pro while Zsa Zsa, Maclaren, and I searched the mall for some white Pedipeds and an Easter dress for Ms. Maclaren. Well I didn't find any Pedipeds at the mall but we did manage to find the most perfect dress at Dillard's-I will definitely post pictures (at a later time)! I ended up finding the perfect Pedipeds on Tuesday...in Chanute! Isn't that crazy? Well I'm beat, it's 12:17am and Andy's shirts are finally finished. I will end with one last picture from our outing yesterday...my lovely son.

Fun in the park

I have a few pics from our two most recent trips to the park. Yesterday we went and it was beautiful. We parked at the Santa Fe train that Jackson loves to play on and we all walked over to the playground/lake area. Andy and Jackson took the rugged route while Maclaren and I were forced to take the stroller accessible route. (Not for long because I finally outbid someone on Ebay for a Baby Bjorn!)

Jackson absolutely loves to feed the ducks and geese. I'm not sure if most of the geese have flown back north or what, because just a few weeks ago there were a lot of them on the lake. Now there are probably only 10 or so. Yesterday, apparently Andy and I had on our "naive caps". Jackson was feeding two or three ducks and they started to swim off. Andy explained to Jackson that they were going to go tell all their friends to come over that we had food. Just a bit later a couple of the ducks started swimming back to us and a black duck was fiercely following them. He caught up with them and Andy and I commented that it appeared as though he was trying to drown the other duck-he was holding it under water! Well here we are making a fuss over the homicidal duck when we realized that the ducks were apparently mating! Yeah, who needs the Discovery Channel-just visit your local park!

Today, we waited too long to make our visit. It was about 7:15pm before we left the house. It didn't seem that cold as we were getting in the car but when we got out at the park it was chilly. Jackson didn't even argue about getting back in the car today!

Well here are a few clips of our latest excursions. Sorry if they are blurry-I was using Jackson's camera!

You need your volume on for this one!

Well if I actually figured out how to do this, then you will need your volume on to be able to see how much Maclaren loves her brother!

Better for now

Only 3 little amoxicillan's later and my head is (so far) doing much better! I'm still stuffy but I can handle that.

These are a few more pics of Maclaren. One day last week I heard her smacking-she often does that when she removes her Nuk and decides to go for her hands instead. This time, however she was sucking on the side of her foot! She's ended up without socks on a lot lately because she takes them off-soaking wet! Guess they hinder her ability to use her new-found pacifiers!

The house is pretty quiet right now-except for the sound of Andy fixing his vat of cereal! Maclaren did better last night. She was fully asleep by 11pm and woke up at 6:01am. Definitely better than 1am-3am-then whatever else it was! I just hope that she does good again tonight. I figure Jackson will be up at any minute now. He didn't utilize quiet time for the sake of a nap yesterday. (I tell him he doesn't have to go to sleep just stay in his room on his bed-and no TV) 9 times out of 10 he goes to sleep anyway, but yesterday was day 10! When his hour was up he was down the stairs and ready to go! Needless to say he got in trouble with his dad last night and Andy sent him to his room. Andy went up there and he had fell out-took less than 8 minutes! It was after 7pm so we decided to let him sleep. Most of you know Jackson is horrible when you wake him when he's not ready to get up!

Well my in-laws got us James Dobson's "The New Strong Willed Child". They would be happy to hear that I'm actually READING it! I'm glad to read that there are people out there who have more defiant children! But, that doesn't make my struggle with Jackson any better. Hopefully I will get to the part that gives the recipe for a compliant child. Kidding. Maybe I should just pray that Maclaren be compliant. I don't know if I can handle another Jackson! After reading just a bit I realized what I guess I already knew. I (believe) that I was a very compliant child. I hated disappointing my parents, so to have a child that could not care less about disappointing me-well it's hard to swallow sometimes. When he's Mr. Attitude I just keep playing back in my head all the "Mom, I love you"'s. That's what gets me through! Well my morning blogging is messing up Andy's morning ritual of checking out all his usual sites! More later!

How long will this last?

Okay, I have had a headcold now for a week and a half-and it's only getting worse. I can breathe now but my head is killing me. It feels like when you dive into a pool and you get water up your nose-but it doesn't go away! I got some antibiotics so hopefully it will get better soon.

I was so ready for the time change-I love the sun being out longer. However, I was hoping for that 60 degree weather as well. 33 is a little cold for me. Guess that's okay for now since I am trying to get a Baby Bjorn off of Ebay so I don't have to keep using the stroller. I'm tired of dodging the goose poop in the park! Jackson loves the park-there is so much for him to do there. The park he likes the best has an old train engine that he loves to climb on. It also has a small lake that has a lot of geese (obviously where the goose poop comes from)! Not to mention the swings and other playground equipment. Our last trip to the park was last Friday. Chanute was out of school for parent/teacher conferences and there were a ton of kids at the park that day--plenty of kids for him to play with!

My lovely daughter has her schedule all messed up. Last night she was up until 1am, then she woke up again at 3am. I didn't let her sleep all day (like she wanted to) so hopefully we won't have a repeat tonight.

Jackson is getting excited about this weekend. Zsa Zsa and Pappaw are going to meet us in Springfield on Sunday on their way home from the Beta Convention. We're going to go Friday or Saturday and stay with Mark and Steph-he loves going to their house and playing with Chloe (their schnoodle-she's so cute).

Maclaren still hasn't discovered her earrings yet-they seem to be doing good-still no regrets! Well Maclaren has apparently had all the "Daddy time" that she can handle-more later!

I've posted some new pics on my site of the kids-check them out!

Our Latest Adventures!

Well last week, Jackson, Maclaren, and I all went "home" for Zsa Zsa's "Birthday Weekend"! On Thursday (the day before her Birthday), Libby and I sent her 50 pink roses and a riddle with the conclusion that she was taking Friday off. Then later that afternoon the kids and I surprised her with our visit! She had absolutely no idea we were coming! We all went to El Acapulco in Corning for dinner that night.

On Friday Libby and I took her to get a pedicure and her hair done. Neelyville had a game that night so we hadn't planned anything for that night-so of course we all went to the game.

Saturday I had a shoot in Kennett so mom (and Alex) watched Maclaren and Jackson went to play with Hank and Hunter (my cousins' boys-they are 4 and 5-I think). Later that night we had Mary Beaird call mom and tell her that she wanted us to come eat. In actuality Mary, David, Colby (Mary's grandson and Jackson's good friend) along with Bill and Myra and Tim, Pat, and Sophia were all waiting (in black). The ladies had decorated the table with "Over the Hill" items and black balloons adorned the table. Mom seemed to have a good time and later still declared that she had no idea of our scheme. She danced with the waiter-and gave him a kiss after they sang her "Happy Birthday". Pat and Mary lit 50 candles, which Jackson helped Mom blow out. By the way, they got the cake at Rowland Stollen's and it was awesome!

THEN on Sunday night we went to Gram's for Shrimp Gumbo, fried potatoes and Granny's Texas Sheet Cake. So, it was definitely a BIRTHDAY WEEKEND! I think she quite enjoyed all of the festivities!

The kids and I headed back home on Monday. We got a late start, mostly due to the canceling of two of Aunt Libby's classes which prompted lunch followed by Maclaren nursing while Jackson ran around McLane Park. We finally got on the road around 12:45pm. To make a long story short we stayed way too long in Springfield and I wasted a quarter of a tank of gas due to the wrong turns that I took(I'm blaming it on the GPS)! Therefore we did not arrive home until about 11:45pm! What a long day!

The first part of this week was pretty uneventful. We bought Chutes and Ladders and have discovered that Jackson is the luckiest kid we know! The first two times he played he hit the square that has the ladder that moves him to square 84-and ended up winning both times. I, on the other hand hit the chute that goes back to square 6, not once, but twice--in one game! For those of you who don't remember or who just don't know, the game has 100 squares.

I still had some of my stuff out from my shoot last weekend so I tried taking a few shots of the kids this week. I must say, I was not extremely successful-but of course, I will keep trying.

The most excitement we had was yesterday! After contemplating for awhile (and extremely hard this week) I decided to take Maclaren to get her ears pierced. I did enough research and decided that now was a good time. I must admit, so far I don't regret it at all. We (myself, Jackson and Maclaren) went to Pittsburgh (KS) and had it done at Claire's. It was early enough in the afternoon that both associates could help as no one else was in the store (not to mention the mall was about the size of Valley Plaza, with just about as many stores). Yes, she cried, for just a moment but was smiling at the associate before we left the store! I've cleaned them twice and she hasn't cried a bit. She must not realize they are there because she hasn't bothered them, which leads me to believe that they don't hurt.

Well I have been on here for awhile, I'm wasting valuable unimpeded cleaning time. Andy's napping with Maclaren and Jackson is watching his new favorite show-Scooby Doo: Where Are You?. Yes, the 60's version-old school-that's how we roll! More later!

New to blogging

I don't have much time now, but it is a rare moment when both of the kids are asleep-so I will take advantage!

For those of you who don't know, we recently moved to Southeast Kansas. Andy's mom and dad came out for a week and a half and watched the kids while I unpacked. Needless to say, I still have boxes and clutter-neither of which I work well with! But, I have decided to try to relax and hope that by the end of next week it's all taken care of!

Maclaren is getting bigger-she was up to 12 lbs. 2oz. at last weeks visit with our new pediatrician Dr. McFarland. I think we are going to like her!
Maclaren is starting to outgrow her 0-3 months but a lot of her 3-6 is still too big! This includes the beloved Gymboree Lady Bug ensemble I bought her for Christmas! I decided to let her wear it anyway on Saturday.

Well I have lots to do before Maclaren wakes up again (what happened to the baby that slept all night? 1:45 a.m. is not my cup of tea!) and big brother Jackson will be wanting some "purple chocolate milk"!

By the way, I have not had time to take any pictures, let alone post any-I hope to soon so keep watching!
